System Software Requirements
When running under z/OS, HostBridge requires CICS Transaction Server 3.2 or later.
When running under z/VSE, HostBridge requires CICS Transaction Server 1.1.1 or later. No specific PTF's are required. You cannot download HostBridge for z/VSE from this site. In order to download the most recent HostBridge software for z/VSE please contact HostBridge Support.
CA Ideal® for CA-Datacom®
HostBridge includes specific features to support CA Ideal transactions. If you have IPC R11 installed, HostBridge can execute CA Ideal transactions under a CICS bridge facility (HostBridge relies on functionality in VPE R11, which is delivered as part of IPC R11). This is the recommended approach. If you do not have IPC R11 installed HostBridge can execute CA Ideal transactions using the CICS FEPI interface.
2.2 or 2.3
2.2 or 2.3
*To run with the IBM Link3270 method, call CA-IPC support for instructions.
CA Ideal Apar definitions are as follows:
IPC r11 toleration
IPC 4.2 (VPE)
CTS 3.1 support
Store panel name in CICS temp storage for improved performance (all environments)
CA ADS® for CA IDMS®
HostBridge includes specific features to support CA IDMS transactions. If you have release 15.0 or later of the CA IDMS CICS Universal Communication Facility (UCF), HostBridge can execute the UCF transaction under a CICS bridge facility. This is the preferred approach. Please consult the relevant CA documentation (PDC QI85071) for additional information and implementation details. Additional HostBridge specific information can be found here.
A HostBridge facility cleanup exit (HBR$FRTU) is also required. Click here to view the instructions to set up this exit.
If you have an earlier version of UCF, HostBridge can execute CA IDMS transactions using the CICS FEPI interface.
Other System Requirements
CICS Web Support must be active. Please be sure that TCPIP=YES is specified in the SIT for regions in which HostBridge runs. For more detail on the above items, refer to the IBM manual CICS Internet Guide provided with your versions of CICS Transaction Server.
